WARRANTY RESTRICTIONS

  • Malfunction or failure of any product caused by improper or inadequate maintenance.
  • Malfunction or failure of any product caused by abuse, misuse, modifications, improper installation or adjustments, alterations, tampering, neglect, fire, vandalism
  • Any product made part of a vehicle used in racing, competition or commercial activities of any kind, regardless of whether the failure of the product can be directly linked to the involvement of the vehicle in any race, competition or commercial activity.
  • Paint damage, including but not limited to chips, scratches, dents, or dings caused by normal or abnormal use or weather, including but not limited to stones, rocks, bird droppings, tree sap, wind, or hail.
  • Incidental or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of time, inconvenience, loss of use, rental car charges, or commercial loss caused by a warrantable malfunction.
  • Wear items, such as bushings, bump stops, heim joints, beadlock rings and/or brake rotors.
  • Shipping charges back to AEV.
  • Original equipment shock absorbers (vehicle manufacturer warranty)
  • Improper installation
  • Racing or driving competition
  • Modified use or use on vehicles other than those specified by AEV
  • Commercial vehicles
  • Bent or broken Rods

Surface finish, boot, mounting hardware, rubber bushing, as well as labor charges are not covered by any of the foregoing limited warranties. BILSTEIN's / AEV's liability for a defective shock absorber is limited to replacement of shock with a new or reconditioned BILSTEIN / AEV shock absorber. Repair or replacement as provided by this warranty is customer's sole and exclusive remedy in the event of a product failure. Manufacturer shall not be liable for any incidental, consequential or other damages resulting from the disassembly, handling, installation, service, repair or use of this product.   This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from State to State.

Note: Other exclusions may  apply in certain states or rare circumstances.


WARRANTY PROCESSING

  1. Verify the suspect shock/strut for possible failure using the directions listed below
  2. Proof of purchase is required to process all warranties
  3. Detailed pictures documenting the issue
  4. If the shock/strut assembly qualifies as defective by BILSTEIN / AEV you will be required to either return the shock to AEV or submit proof that the shock has been field destroyed.
